I taught myself Pyrography in 2021. There’s something about burning designs into wood, watercolor paper and other mediums that’s so satisfying. It’s been described as tattooing into wood. Having grown up in both the Philippines and the United States I have had many artistic influences. You can see this in my artwork inspired by the Philippines, my Irish heritage, and American culture. Growing up, dreaming of being a veterinarian, I developed a passion for animals so I am always looking for ways to incorporate the cute and quirky critters into my pieces. In addition to pyrography I am passionate about fibrecrafts (tatting, crocheting, sewing), writing (calligraphy, brush lettering), and other woodcrafts. When not crafting I spend time with my husband and sons around Charlotte (walking the greenways, antiquing, discovering new foods), reading, and watching movies. My goals are to develop BZ FurFur to be a successful business making and selling unique gifts for people around Charlotte and around the world.
