About

Earl C. Martin Jr., MSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinical therapist, podcaster, and curator of healing, but above all, a human committed to helping others live their best lives. He is the owner of Innate Virtue Counseling, PLLC, and the creator of 26 Affirmations for Boys of Color.

Earl specializes in working with anxiety, intimate partner violence, and boundary setting, with particular expertise at the intersections of LGBTQIA+ identities, racial and minority stress, and trauma. He earned both his Master of Social Work and B.A. in Psychology from Winthrop University, where his academic focus centered on empowerment, racial inequities and microaggressions, and supporting youth who identify as LGBTQIA+.

Earl is a recipient of Winthrop University’s Close Scholar Distinguished Alumni Award, recognizing his commitment to social justice, community well-being, and mental health advocacy. He is also a Charlotte Champion in Education Award recipient from Delta Honors for his clinical work in Charlotte, North Carolina. 

A contributing author to Queering EMDR, Earl wrote “EMDR: An Intersectional Lens from a Black Gay Man Raised and Practicing in the South.” He also co-hosts The G.R.I.T.S. Co, a talk series dedicated to amplifying the voices and lived experiences of Black queer individuals raised in the South.
