Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations serves as an integral part of the human relations support system for the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Under the city’s human relations ordinance, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations has the power to monitor and improve the quality of human relations within the community by interpreting the social inclinations and frustrations of residents. Staff members work with the Community Relations Committee (CRC) to gain insight on Charlotte’s continually changing intergroup relations issues. Together, CRC members and staff members work to enhance human relations through five core service areas: (1) Intergroup Relations (Community/Cultural Engagement), (2) Fair Housing, (3) Community Affairs, (4) ADA, and (5) Dispute Settlement.
