Description
Our Defensive Techniques training helps to prepare the LGBTQ+ community, and its allies, for the unique physical risks they face. The training series will offer a core set of striking and self-defense skills that can help keep you safe and fend off potential physical threats.
The training is a 4-week course; with each class being 1 hour/once per week. In our defensive techniques workshop, you will get an introduction to:
- Effective striking skills
-Improved situational awareness
and reaction times to a threat
-Simple strategies to help get out of harm's way as soon as possible
- Increased confidence
- Effective grappling skills
- Improve strength and endurance
- Learn where to step and throw your punches and kicks
- Learn key skills and learn how to trust your instincts
-Using your voice as a weapon
-Avoidance and De-escalation skills
-Simple physical techniques and skills

*The workshop is free for LGBTQ+ youth ages 14-19*
